Rori avoids actively fighting at all costs. If he were pitted against anyone with even mediocre skill fighting, he'd surely lose. However, he is still a valuable asset on the field because of his ability. He would probably work in a pair with someone. In case of an emergency, there's always the handy dandy ruler lol (someone pls teach him how to fight).

Born to an affluent family off the coast of Ruslan Ludmila. His mother was a trader merchant, and his father a fisher. Rori was a confident, if not somewhat egotistical child who easily earned high marks in grade school, but he never got along with either parent thanks to his attitude- his father called him lazy (which he was) and his mother couldn't understand why Rori refused to listen to her. In his late teens, he had a bad falling out with his mother, and left the household to live at his girlfriend's house.

He found work as an engineer, for both designing and fixing ship parts / their propulsion system. Though he is a brilliant draftsman, he was very lazy, and tensions arose with his girlfriend Helen- a very motivated secretary at the engineering firm. With stress, he discovered he had the ability to manipulate people's perception of time, but it was unstable, triggered by bouts of anxiety. After a particularly bad day, his ability caused an... accident. He moved out from his girlfriends' place after that, and the two haven't talked since.

He fell into a depression, and his motivation spiraled down the drain. He was fired from work for not meeting the productivity quota. He had no friends or family (that he wanted to see, anyways), so he left for Liebestraum after hearing about joining the Divisions to keep order to the city- it paid, and he was desperate for money.

In addition, he found work as a waiter in an upscale cafe/restaurant downtown. Combined, the two jobs make just enough money for him to afford to live on his own.

He is currently sharing rooming with Frederick Wagner, who needed a place to stay after losing his home to his mother.

Stiff and sarcastic, Rori is a difficult person to be around- down to earth and no bullshit or sugarcoating- but he knows his stuff, especially if you ask him about experimenting with magic and technological integration. He always seems to be tired and avoids spending energy whenever he can. Because of financial difficulties, he's also a cheapskate.

It's not obvious at all, but he actually likes talking to people. If it ever came to defending a friend, Rori wouldn't mind stepping in and telling off whatever asshole is bothering them (and he actually almost lost his waiter job because of that lmao). He respects people who stand up for themselves and book smarts.
